Mega Media Journalism Award conferred on Steven Rego

Mangalore,Jan19,2013 : Outstanding young journalist Steven Rego Darandakukku, sub-editor, reporter with Vijayakarnataka daily, was conferred the Mega Media Journalism Award at a function held at Town Hall in Mangalore on January 18, Friday. The Award was conferred on Rego in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of Mega Media, a news portal which is also offering Advertising and Publicity Services. Rego was presented the Award for his article titled “ Kattalalli Moodi Banthu Belaku” published in Karavali Section of Vijayakarnataka dated December 6,2011. Former Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Harikrishna Punaroor, presided over the function. Ganesh Rao, Chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges, Umanath Kotian, President of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Krishna Palemar, former district minister, A Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of Shreedevi institutions, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President of District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, PB Harish Rai, President of District Working Journalists Union, noted comedian Tennis Krishna, Tulu actor Arjun Kapikad, were present as chief guests. Mega Media Managing Director Shivaprasad, Saritha S, Director were present on the dais. Outstanding achievers Govinda Guruswamy, music director Aditya Narayan, photographer Satish Ira and Ravinarayan of Dhyeya Software Solutions, were felicitated on the occasion. ‘Nage Habba’ by noted comedian Tennis Krishna and Tulu theatre artiste Anand Bolar enthralled the audience. A Tulu comedy play ‘Eddeduppuga’ featuring Tennis Krishna was also presented.
