Love,Krrish,Dhoka
Ambitious to star opposite Hrithik,Jacqueline ditches boyfriend Sajids film, gives dates to Roshans
There seems to be trouble in paradise for Jacqueline Fernandez and her beau Sajid Khan. And it's all because of the other man in her life - Hrithik Roshan.Reportedly,Jacqueline, who has been the recent victim of fame due to the success of Murder 2,has allotted the same dates in October and December 2011,which she had reserved for Sajid's Housefull 2,to Hrithik's Krrish 2.
The actress's diva antics have been the talk of the industry and with the enviable offer to step into Chitrangda's shoes for the Rakesh Roshan franchise (Mumbai Mirror,August 18,2011),a source informed that Jacqueline's professional behaviour is spiraling out of control and could potentially damage her personal relationship with Sajid.
The source explained that on Friday evening,Sajid got into a major altercation with Jacqueline, when he learned that the actress willingly agreed to allot the same dates to the Roshans."After signing the film at Roshan's office in Andheri,Jacqueline came straight to Sajid's house and broke the news to him.Initially,Sajid thought that she was joking. But when he saw that Jacqueline was serious,he understood that she had let her ambitions rule the roost,"revealed the source.
Reportedly,Sajid was informed about Jacqueline's decision to sign on Krrish 2 and was very supportive of one of her biggest breaks till date. However,he was caught unawares by her decision to prioritise Krrish 2 over Housefull2.
"The fight got very ugly and Jacqueline stormed out of Sajid's house.Since then, the two of them have not spoken to each other,"added the source.
A friend of Sajid told Mumbai Mirror,"He is obviously feeling betrayed.Clearly,Jacqueline is a very ambitious girl.Krrish 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, who is a superstar. Moreover,Krrish is a brand. But,Sajid was the one who gave her the opportunity to feature in the item song in Housefull and resurrected her career after her two flops."
The source explained that beyond the love spat, the professional ramifications of Jacqueline's decision are a major inconvenience to the filmmaker."Sajid doesn't know what he should do about Jacqueline's scenes that she was supposed to shoot for in October and December and how he is expected to re-schedule dates of the other actors in the film to suit Jacqueline's convenience,"said the source.
When contacted,Sajid Khan told us,"We have two schedules of Housefull 2 - one in October and one in December. But I haven't fought with anybody."When asked if his relationship with Jacqueline is status quo,Sajid said,"Love you.Bye."Jacqueline too chose to deny the story.

Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar has extended her support to Anna Hazare's fight against corruption. Mangeshkar sent a message to the Gandhian saying she supported his fight for a strong Lokpal Bill. This was announced by Hazare aide Arvind Kejriwal at Ramlila Maidan. The 81-year-old took to twitter to support Hazare, saying she could not stop herself when the issue is related to corruption.
"Namaskar, mujhe raajneeti na samajhme aati hai na hi usmein koi dilchaspi hai, parantu bhrashtachaar se humara desh mukt hona bahot zaroori hai, isiliye main anna hazaare ji ke is bhrashtachaar virodhi abhiyaan ka samarthan karti hun... (I don't understand politics nor do I have an interest in it. But I feel, our country should be free from corruption, so I lend my support to the cause Anna Hazareji is fighting for)," Mangeshkar posted on Twitter.
However,
Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan declined to comment on the anti-corruption movement launched by Anna Hazare. When journalists asked him at the airport here on Hazare''s campaign, he just smiled and walked on.

Katrina Kaif gets pricier
Even as one actress after another is being termed the leading diva of Bollywood, there is someone who is staying away from the clamor and quietly laughing on her way to the bank.According to Eye TV India quoting sources Katrina has been signed on to endorse a brand for the unheard of price of Rs 40 million.
She has been riding high on the success of ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, and now has a new feat to celebrate, as she has overtaken not just other Bollywood actresses, but even Sachin Tendulkar, on the endorsement deal front. Her latest deal has put her undisputedly on top of her game. But trade watchers say that Kat’s numero uno position has been crystallizing for quite a while now.
Besides, the pretty actress has recently said that it is more fun working with the younger heroes than the older ones. In the beginning of her career, she worked with senior actors like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Later, she was paired with the younger actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. She said it is very different working with older heroes because of the age difference of about 20 years. She added a young Imran would come on the sets, would kick her playfully...at times there would be nothing constructive though. And one senior actor Katrina is terrified working with is Salman's arch foe Shah Rukh Khan. She will soon romance Shah Rukh on the big screen though.

Any idea why Kareena is upset
Kareena Kapoor is upset after learning of rumours being apparently spread by a contemporary actor. This actor apparently told a common friend that Kareena's wax statue at Madame Tussauds was "nothing but a gimmick".
"Kareena was deeply hurt when she heard about the heroine bitching about her in her close circles. You will never find her talking to her again. She is hurt," says a close friend of the actor. Apparently, the heroine in question is also getting her share of international fame that she and her publicity team have been steadily working on, over the past few months.
Meanwhile, there are reports that post her retirement from Bollywood, actor Shamita Shetty is now keen to follow in her elder sister actor Shilpa Shetty's footsteps and settle down.
And insiders reveal that the Shettys' are already looking out for a suitable boy for Shamita. Shilpa too admits to the marriage bit. She however dismisses all the groom-hunting talk. "Of course, Shamita will get married someday and we are waiting for her big day too, but first there should be a guy na," smiles Shilpa, revealing that the family isn't exactly playing match-maker. "We are not looking out for a groom for Shamita, she will find her own guy," she says.

Shilipa Shetty’s mother now producer !
Furious with the lack of funds, progress and initiative and determined to complete and release what she considers a remarkable work of cinema, Shilipa Shetty’s intrepid mother has taken over the production of her daughter’s Indo-Chinese production The Desire: A Journey Of A Woman. She has apparently edited the film down to 95 minutes and is readying the film for various international film festivals.
When contacted Sunanda Shetty admitted, “The websites claim Tracy Shiyun is the co-producer. Not true. She went to court and lost. I am the sole producer of this project.
We’ve made changes for the betterment of the movie. If I had to turn producer I wanted the film to be what I as a member of the audience would like to see. Yes, we’ve cut the length down. ”
If Shilpa Shetty’s mother Sunanda Shetty has turned producer Lord knows there was enough provocation to do. Apparently the ambitious film about an Indian girl quest for spiritualism through her Odissi dancing was on the verge of being shelved when Mrs Shetty agreed to step in as producer.
Says a source, “The Desire …had gone grossly over-budget and had also become too long. When Mrs Shetty stepped in the length of the film was unmanageable at 2 hours 25 minutes.
Mrs Shetty cut the film down to size at 95 minutes and is sending it off to various international film festivals. She also had areas of dispute with the director R Sarath on several counts. ” Says Mrs Sunanda Shetty, “When I decided to step in as producer the film was in serious trouble. It was stuck for over a year. But I immediately saw the potential in it.
I was told there was just a few weeks’ shooting left when in fact we had to shoot for a good six months more. But it’s been worth it. It’s a beautiful story and has a great role for Shilpa. My daughter warned me not to turn producer now when I had desisted from doing so all these years.
But somehow more than the concerned mother it was the film buff in me that realized the potential of this film. I jumped into the ocean without knowing how to swim. ”
The proud and protective mother makes it very clear that she took on the onus of being the sole producer of this film because of her darling daughter’s sake. “What appealed to me in the film is the fact that a girl could lead her life on her own terms without adhering to the so-called dos and don’ts. I strongly believe a girl child should be allowed to follow her heart. ”

The untold story SRK's father
Taj Khan was a handsome young man when India was dived on communal lines in 1947. Activist of Congress in his home town in Peshawar, he was deeply hurt when Hindus and Sikhs from Pakistan started migrating to India and Muslims to Pakistan.
As a secularist and somebody who shunned the two-nation theory of MA Jinnah, he too decided to shift to secular India rather than staying back in a country carved out for Muslims. Father of certain Shah Rukh Khan of Bollywood, Taj Mohammad came to Delhi once and for all leaving behind his home.
Unlike the general perception that only Hindus and Muslims migrated to India in the wake of partition of the country in 1947, if not in large numbers, many Muslims families too decided to shift to India rather than staying in an Islamic country.
Taj Mohammad too shifted his family India. Taj Mohammad, whose family used to live at Bazar Kissaa Khani in Peshawar city, was a Congress activist and totally opposed to the idea of partition of the country on the basis of religion. He came to Delhi along with his family members.
Taj Mohammad was a lawyer and died of cancer in 1981. According to an ex-IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre and keen student of Modern Indian history, Zafar Iqbal, "many prominent Muslims families with secular and Congress background had decided to migrate to India at that time. They were not at all ready to live in an out and out Islamic country". Prominent Congress leader Mohammad Yunus, a close relative of Frontier Gandhi Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, too came to India. He was one of the founders of Trade Fair Authority of India.
Noted theatre activist and teacher in Satyawati College of DU, Shamshul Islam’s family also rejected the very thought of living in an Islamic Pakistan. “ My grand father and father came to India in 1947 in the height of communal clashes. I really owe to my elders that they shifted to India instead of staying back in Rawalpindi.
Despite some issues, India is a great nation,” he said. Once HC Shourie, who was the Rehabilitation commissioner of refugees, told this reporter in late 80s that some Muslims families from NWFP region of Pakistan came to India as there was not much impact of Jinnah and Muslim League there. The local people were close to Gandhiji and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. That was the major reason for many Muslims to leave Pakistan and settled in secular India.
It may be recalled that Mr Shourie was a very respected Consumer Right activists and father of eminent author and journalist, Arun Shourie and TV personality Nalini Singh.

KISHORE KUMAR: THE MASTER'S VOICE
Lata Mangeshkar called him the Sampoorna Kalakar (complete artist). For her he was Danny Kaye of India. For millions of listeners worldwide Kishore Kumar's voice is sheer magic and his presence on screen, a laugh riot. The most versatile personality of all times, Kishore Kumar was one of the few artistes who could act, sing, direct, edit, compose and write scripts. There are many facets of the genius, which added up to what Kishore Kumar as a person was- eccentric, crazy but one of the biggest entertainers.Today is the birthday of Kishore Kumar .
He was born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly on 4th August 1929, in a middle class family in Khandwa. He was the youngest in the family. He had no formal training in music but was blessed with a melodious voice. Even as a boy, he was enamoured by Saigal's style of singing. Like Saigal, he too had natural instincts and talent on his side.
When struggling to become a singer he was often told by people, 'Aapki awaaz mein woh baat nahin hai' (your voice has something amiss) and even his elder brother, the legendary actor, Ashok Kumar wanted him to be an actor instead of a singer as he thought that actors are better paid. But all that Kishore Kumar wanted to do in life was to sing.
At the age of 18, he came to Bombay where elder brother Ashok Kumar was a major star. He got his first opportunity as a singer in Bombay Talkies Ziddi, 1948 where he sang the song Marne ki Duayen Kyon Mangu for Dev Anand. Being an ardent admirer of K.L. Saigal, the song was sung in the style of the legend.
Kishore Kumar became a hero with Andolan, but gained popularity with Ladki in 1953. Overall he acted in about 80 odd films and at one time he was rated one of the most popular actors. In fact, he was so busy with his acting career that for one of his films singer Mohd Rafi had to do the playback.
Acting was one thing which he hated as he did not like to be dictated by his directors. One interesting anecdote has it that Kishore Kumar was once issued a court order that he should always listen to his directors. So, once when he reported for shooting, he was reluctant to get down from the car as his director had not instructed him to do so.
He got recognition as a comedian with his hilarious films Half Ticket, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Funtoosh and Padosan. He made Door Gagan Ke Chaon Mein in 1964, which won him an international award. His film Door Ka Rahi in 1971 was also widely appreciated. The movies directed by him stressed on serious themes and a sentimental kind of music, which he had aspired for, especially after being portrayed a comical hero all through the series of movies he had done.
Kishore was initially taken quite lightly as a singer and was given mainly lighter songs by Burmanda and other music directors. But with the soulful Dukhi Man Mere from Funtoosh, 1956, Kishore was now taken seriously as a singer. Though a very popular comedian of his time it was Kishore's singing trait that made him a legend.
Kishore's long and fruitful association with S D Burman began with Pyar, starring Raj Kapoor. It had two of Kishore's rare sentimental numbers- O bewafa, yeh to bata loota chaman kyon pyar ka and Mohabbat ka chotasa ek ashiyana. He sang 112 songs for Burman and would have sung more but for the rift that developed between them in 1958. They settled their differences in 1965 with Kishore singing Khwab ho tum ya koi haqeeqat from Teen Deviyaan and Gaata rahe mera dil from Guide.
Singing for S D Burman and his son R D Burman, Kishore's career spanned two generations of listeners. But Kishore was more popular among the younger listeners, mainly due to the success of R D Burman's music in films like Kati Patang for the song Yeh jo mohabbat hai and from Amar Prem it was Chingari koi bhadke.
The runaway success of the songs of Aradhana, 1969 pushed Kishore into prominence, eclipsing all others with the popularity of Meri sapnon ki rani and Roop tera mastana and he soon came to be recognised as the voice of the then superstar Rajesh Khanna.
His greatest contribution to filmdom was his style of yodeling in songs like Mein hoon jhumroo and Haal kaisa hai janaab ka. But the true versatile singer that he was, he also sang all-time sentimental hits like Jeevan se bhari teri aankhen, Kuch to log kehenge, Mera jeevan kora kagaz, Zindagi ka safar and Ye jeevan hai.
His romantic numbers still remain unparalleled with songs like Mere naina saawan bhaadon, Yeh shaam mastani, Kehna hai kehna hai, and Mere mehbbob qayamat hogi. When it came to singing fun songs, he sang Aake teekhi lagi, Khaike paan banaraswala, Ina meena deeka, Ik chatur naar and Zarurat hai.
As his fame grew so did stories of his eccentricities. He put up a board outside his house saying This is a lunatic asylum. He reportedly spoke to his trees in his backyard addressing each by a special name. His personal life was also very eventful.
His first marriage, to Ruma Guha (Amit Kumar's mother) broke up, while that with Madhubala ended with her premature death. His marriage to actress Yogita Bali lasted just about a month. He then married his fourth wife Leena Chandavarkar who was two years older than his son, Amit! He would often say of Leena, his last wife, who survived him, that he married only Leena; the rest married him.
Kishore remained at the top till the very end succumbing to a major heart attack on 13th October 1987. He was still full of life. He was just 58. His sudden death created a void that hasn't been filled ever since.
Rs 8 crore Heroine
Kareena becomes Bollywoods highest paid actress beating Aishwarya Rais record of Rs 6.5 crore for Rajinis Robot
Kareena Kapoor might have played saviour to director Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV by stepping into the shoes left empty by Aishwarya Rai in the film Heroine. But the actress is surely being recompensed for it.Recompensed a bit too extravagantly if one may say so.The actress who had reportedly demanded Rs 10 crore for the project has now settled for Rs 8 crore, the highest sum paid to a leading lady in Bollywood ever.
A source close to the project revealed,"After Aishwarya left the film midway due to her pregnancy,Madhur was left with very few options. At one point in time, the filmmakers had even decided to shelve the project. However,UTV was very keen to work it out with another heroine. And since work had started on the same, they decided to rope in another heroine for the film. They had very few options to choose from.Vidya,Priyanka and Kareena were the only options. While Priyanka did not want to do the film since it was very similar to Fashion,Vidya was already busy shooting for Ekta Kapoor's Dirty Picture."
"Madhur was forced to go back to their original choice Kareena Kapoor. This time around,Kareena decided to do the film. Then began the task of getting her dates. Her diary already choc-a-bloc with dates given out for Bodyguard,Agent Vinod and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Part 2,making time for Madhur's project seemed tough.Bodyguard is gearing up for Eid release.Portions of Agent Vinod remains to be shot and she had already committed to Once Upon A Time... However,Kareena juggled her dates and made herself available for Heroine.UTV wanted to thank her for her efforts and pay her well for it.The deal has now been signed for Rs 8 crore.Though reports suggested that she had asked for Rs 10 crore, the final figure is now Rs 8 crore,"added the source.
"This is the biggest amount any actress in the industry has received so far. While the leading actors always get a lot ore money than the heroines,Kareena seems to have broken that barrier,"concluded the source.
While Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV Motion Pictures chose not to reply to our text messaged,Kareena and her spokesperson refused to comment on the same.
HIGHEST PAID TILL DATE...
*Kareena seems to have taken over from Ash in ways more than one.She has not only replaced Mrs Rai Bachchan as the heroine in Madhur's film, but also as the highest paid actress of B-town.Ash who was reportedly, paid a whopping Rs 6.5 crore for Rajinikanth's Robot was till date the highest paid actress.
*Before Ash,it was Priyanka Chopra who made the headlines by signing Harry Baweja's Love Story 2050 opposite Harman for Rs 1.5 crore.
* The first time an actress' remuneration made headlines was when Deepak Chopra signed Preity Zinta for his film Yeh Raaste Hai Pyaar Ke for Rs 91 lakh ten years back.Interestingly, this was after Kareena had opted out of the film at the last minute.
