Mahima becomes a gangster!!!

It has been quite a while since anyone has seen the raunchy seductress Mahima Chaudhary on the screen. Now, it is heard that she is all set to make her comeback of sorts. Sources say she will be seen in the new movie Mumbhaai- The Gangsters and this is being directed by Wilfred Lobo and produced by Pahel Entertainment. Buzz is that this is inspired by the fake encounter of Avinash, the right hand man of gangster Chhota Rajan. It is heard that Mahima would be seen in the role of a gangster.

Richa in tamil remake of 'Dabangg'

Tamil superstar Simbu whose remake of 'Vedam', titled ‘Vaanam’ has been declared a hit, and the young star is all set to star work for his next film, ‘Dabangg’s remake. It is known by now that this remake will be directed by director Dharani and now, sources say, that our heroine Richa Gangopadhyay will share screen space with Silambarasan.
Though heroines like Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor have been considered for the role, we hear the team finalised Richa .
This NRI girl who has blockbusters like 'Leader', 'Nagavalli' and 'Mirapakay' to her credit, doesn't have a single movie in her kitty now.
"Richa is a great dancer and a beauty pageant winner as well, so maybe we can expect great performances since the duo are renowned dancers… The puja for this film will be held on May 9 at the AVM Studios." the movie unit informed.

According to our birdies, the London gori Katrina Kaif will play the evergreen classic beauty of our cinema Madhubala in Yash Raj Films’ forthcoming film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ – starring Imran Khan and Ali Zafar.
In the course of the movie Katrina will be seen in a special number which is said to be a tribute to Madhubala. Explaining further about the track, birdies shared that, it will start after a scene where Katrina sees a poster of the yesteryear actress in a roadside dhaba – which instantly sets her into song and dance mode.
Well, already there are rumours about Kat playing Madhubala in Anurag Basu’s biographical film on Kishore Kumar. Now this special song will surely promote Kat from Sheila to Madhubala level…

Hansika is unwell

The bubbly Hansika Motwani is not feeling well for the past few days, even as her second Tamil movie ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ is releasing all over the world in a big way today.
“I am suffering from fever for the past few days. The reason could perhaps be the release of ‘Engeyum Kadhal’, as I am expecting a lot out of the film. It’s my best performance till date,” she says.
Hansika plays Lolita in ‘Engeyum Kadhal’, a girl of Indian origin who was born and brought up in Paris, the capital city of France. “It is an interesting character and I have got enough scope to perform,” she says.
Describing director Prabhu Deva as her elder brother, the actress says she would call her co-star ‘Jayam’ Ravi as Gem Ravi. “Both are nice persons and were very co-operative on the sets,” she recalls.

Amoolya on Manasology

Mani Ratnam, popularly called as Mani sir by colleagues, has been described as her ‘only friend in Chennai’ by Manisha Koirala. Remember the actress and the director worked together in two films- ‘Bombay’ and ‘Uyire’.
“I will never forget Chennai and my only friend in the city, Mani Ratnam. I have lost touch with him after Dil Se (Uyire) and would like to speak with him. He is a nice gentleman,” she says.
On her re-entry in Kollywood with ‘Mappillai’, that too in a role with negative shades, the ‘Indian’ and ‘Baba’ heroine says, “It is a decision taken after considering various things. And I am happy with the response.”
She adds: “The mom-in-law character I played in ‘Mappillai’ is very powerful and already a popular one in Tamil Nadu. I believe I have done justice to the role. Acting with a young and fresh team was a nice experience.”

Bindu plays sex worker

No doubt, the present heroines are ready to expose to the maximum extent in the name of glamour. However, most of them won’t dare to play the role of a sex worker as they would feel that it would damage their image.
Putting a full stop to such thoughts, popular heroine and glamour queen Anushka agreed to play the role of ‘Amalapuram Saroja’ for ‘Vedam’. The film brought critical acclaim.
Now, another budding heroine followed the footsteps of Anushka. She is Bindu Madhavi. Of course, she signed up the role for a Tamil film ‘Veppam’ wherein Naani and Nitya Menon played the lead roles. The same is now getting dubbed into Telugu as ‘Sega’.
Talking about her character in that film, Bindu Madhavi of ‘Avakay Biryani’-fame in Telugu says, ‘Though I played the role of a sex worker, the director did not shoot any intimate or vulgar scenes for the film. I can proudly say that an artiste should have the guts to accept any kind of role and I signed up to prove that I am a genuine artiste, especially for a film directed by Anjana Ali Khan and produced by Gautham Menon.’

Freida's first sex scene

Freida Pinto will be baring it all in Tarsem Singh's Immortals. The Slumdog Millionaire actress will be seen in an intimate sex scene in the film. This would be her first makeout scene in a movie since her debut.

There is already buzz surrounding the sensuous nature of Freida's role now that the teaser of the film is out.

She not only features prominently in the promo but also shows some skin when she goes backless in a particular scene.

Pinto plays a priestess named Phaedra and has a romantic track opposite Henry Cavill who plays a peasant names Theseus.

Immortals also stars Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion, who creates a bloody war between humans. Singh has reportedly said to a UK tabloid that Pinto was a sport and despite so many people around, she did the sex scenes pretty well.

Arundhati Revealed

As per the news doing the rounds that Vivek Agnihotri's next film 'Buddha in a Traffic Jam' has a character which is based on that of writer-social activist Arundhati Roy, it has come to be known that the character is being played by none other than the talented Mahie Gill. Mahie actually underwent a complete make-over with her looks to fit Arundhati's character and look to the 'T', where she even chopped off her long tresses. Mahie's clothes also were designed, keeping well in mind ow Arundhati dresses up in real life, and the costume designer - Vishakha Kullarwar, got together a trunk full of ethinic jewelery, cotton & khadi printed sarees, etc. By looking at Mahie in the film, no will raise their eyebrows that she looks out of character & she also runs an NGO in the film just like Arundhati Roy.

Anushka wants to go the Madhuri way

Unlike Madhuri Dixit who had to suffer over half a dozen flops before her 'Ek Do Teen' (Tezaab) act brought her into the reckoning, Anushka Sharma has enjoyed a far better Bollywood outing with Chopras ensuring a protected start for her.
"The other day I heard Madhuri say on stage that she managed to sustain for so long because people loved her for what she was and never expected her to be any different. Due to this she could afford to be a complete natural. I can't agree more since this is what I have always aspired as well. I too want to walk the same line," says Anushka.
Though she has been enjoying a better success ratio than many of her counterparts, Anushka has often been accused of missing out on popularity quotient due to her belief in 'doing things my own way'.
"Isn't this what Madhuri did as well i.e. working on her performance rather than worry about making appearances and being spotted at the right places with the right people," shoots back Anushka, "No, I am not comparing myself with her; I have a long way to go. But then I would definitely pick up what worked well for her."
